With legalization, users of cannabis have access to a variety of different types of cannabis. In particular, the use of cannabis edibles and vapes is on the rise while smoked cannabis is becoming less popular. Despite this, there is little knowledge about the impact of newer forms of cannabis on cognition and driving. In addition, little is known about the relationship of blood THC to driving and cognition. In this series of studies and systematic reviews, I am delineating the differences in the impact of different forms of cannabis on cognition and blood THC. I hypothesize that vaped cannabis will have the most detrimental effects of cognition, while edibles will be less damaging than smoked cannabis. These differences will correspond to corresponding levels of blood THC.
